Range of services offered to hospitals and the public:

Autologous donation:
Individuals pre-donate blood for themselves prior to elective surgery.

Designated donation:
Friends and relatives donate blood for a specific patient.

Apheresis (cell separation) programme:
Rather than donating whole blood, donors give blood components, such as platelets, which are used in the treatment of cancer and leukaemia.

Rare blood donor file:
We store some rare blood for patients with unusual blood groups.

Paternity testing:
Through a comprehensive DNA test, questions regarding parenthood can be answered.

Blood Grouping and testing for travellers:
Groups of people travelling abroad can have their blood tested and grouped in order to donate for each other in the case of an emergency.
